AMD today announced pricing and availability details of Ryzen 3 and Ryzen Threadripper desktop processors. Ryzen Threadripper is a “Zen”-based CPU with up to 16-cores and 32-threads with a new platform with expanded memory and I/O bandwidth, designed for the High-End Desktop (HEDT) market and it will compete with Intel Core i9 series. Ryzen Threadripper 1950X comes with 16 cores and 32 threads, but it also delivers a 3.4 GHz base clock and a 4.0 GHz boost. AMD has priced the Ryzen Threadripper 1950X at USD $999, it is $700 less than the equivalent Intel Core i9-7960X chip. And the Ryzen Threadripper 1920X, which packs 12 cores and 24 threads, a 3.5 GHz base clock and a 4.0 GHz boost, is price at USD $799, $400 less than Intel’s Core i9-7920X. Check out the video below to see both processors offering more performance than the Intel’s flagship processors.
